UCI WORLD CUP, NAMUR
Namur is one of those special courses in cycling, so tough, so technical and a perfect amphitheatre for the spectators. It’s also in Wallonia, which gives it a salt of the earth, big beers and small cigars vibe which is very diferent to the Flemish races. It’s one of my favourites.
We’re getting to the business end of the season. This race is similar in many ways to Valkenberg, where the Worlds will be held in February, and now is the time to be coming into form. The racing threw up some suprises, and some masterful performances, so the coming weeks will be fascinating. Already the air around the teams and riders has changed, as the nerves build to the Worlds. Cyclocross Handbook will be in Valkenberg to bring images of the action.
