Three Peaks Cyclocross, Helwith Bridge, Yorkshire

Three Peaks is unlike any other cyclocross race of the year. The 38 mile course ascends the three summits of Inglebrough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent making a total of 5000 feet of climbing. There’s no chance to recover on the fast, rocky descents either. It’s an iconic race and one of my favourites of the season. Heavy overnight rain, and then a bit more at regular intervals throughout the day, filled up the puddles and made the boggy parts of the course even more treacherous. As usual, the captions take up the story of some great battles in the men’s and women’s race. If you haven’t already, please give the Facebook a like, and look out for a large gallery coming later in the week, where you might be able to spot yourselves.
