Even just a couple of years ago, it would've seemed kinda crazy to think this guy would be in Milton Keynes.
-
But here's Sven signing some autographs and probably enjoying not being quite as mobbed as you find in Flanders.
-
ADELA SMASH! Top marks for these guys. Well done.
-
Sanne Cant led out the Women's race from the go...
-
...but the conditions were really tough...
-
...so even she didn't get it her own way on the slippery off camber sections.
-
-
-
It didn't take the crowds long to figure out cross is best viewed on the hop.
-
A lap later it's Katie Compton in the lead...
-
...Sanne second...
-
...and Nikki Harris third in the November sun.
-
Smash having a great time. Does anyone know anything about the incredible hulk smash thing? I'd like to know.
-
-
-
-
Cross Dog 16.5.
-
After being together throughout the final lap it came down to a sprint finish between Sanne Cant and Katie Compton.
-
Which Sanne Cant JUST took.
-
-
High fives. High fives from CXHandbook too Helen.
-
Klaas Vantournout led through the the slippy off camber sections on the first lap...
-
...Sven bobbled the corner and dropped a chain and lost a heap of time...
-
...and Francis looked smart in his French Champs Skinsuit / wedding apparel.
-
-
-
After his awful start, Sven's chance of winning had gone. But he raced out of his skin to pull back the time.
-
Walsleben led for a bit. He's been really strong this year.
-
-
Sven still going flat out. He would have been hard to beat without his problems.
-
A bunch formed of Mourey, Walsleben, K-Pauw Vantournout and Van der Haar.
-
Ian Field a few seconds down on Nys.
-
-
Cross Dog 17.5
-
-
Tom Meeusen race face.
-
Vantournout on the higher part of the off camber section.
-
Nys took the lower line most laps.
-
-
Uh-oh.
-
An indication of just how slippery the mud in Milton Keynes was.
-
-
-
-
Final laps. Vantournout got ahead briefly.
-
-
-
-
-
At the end Kevin Pauwels won the sprint having traded the lead throughout the last lap.
-
-
-
-
Cyclocross is hard...
-
...unless you're this guy.
